Amalia Ulman (born 1989) is an Argentine-Spanish artist, actress and filmmaker. Her work which consists of performance, installation, video and internet art works are multidisciplinary practice constructs narrative fictions which explore the tensions between global forces, public image, and private desires. Her work deals with issues of class, gender, sexuality, and middlebrow aesthetics, and blurs the distinction between herself and the object of study, often creating humorous, gentle deceptions, while exploring class imitation and the relationship between consumerism and identity.
