​Babu Baral (born Ayub Akhtar; 1964 – April 16, 2011) was an iconic Pakistani stage actor, comedian, singer, director, and playwright. Widely regarded as a pioneer of modern commercial Punjabi theatre, he helped define the golden era of Pakistani stage comedy with his sharp improvisational wit, flawless timing, and world-class vocal mimicry. ​Beginning his career in 1982, Baral performed in over 1,000 stage plays over nearly three decades.
