Billy Johnson

Biography

Billy Johnson is an educator, historian and cultural consultant from Leland, Mississippi. He is best known as the curator of the Highway 61 Blues Museum. Johnson's family owned a drug store next door to a cafe where blues artists often played. Johnson knew many blues legends who lived in Leland and realised that many had been honored all over the world but not at home, giving him the idea to start the Highway 61 Blues Museum.
