She falls in love with a young man named Sergei, who introduces her to another law, not the Soviet one, but the thieves' one. The law of thieves forces Sergei to betray his and Sonya's love. This law takes away Sledge's father, destroys his mother, brother, Sonya herself miraculously remains alive after Sergei buries her alive in the cemetery. Sonya escaped, but now she is driven by an indomitable desire to destroy this damned law of thieves. And she starts with Sergei...
